Overview

This is a two year programme which is equivalent to three A Levels. Over the next 10 years, there is a requirement for more experienced professionals in the area of software and application development. This course will provide you with practical software, application development and data analytical skills based on current industry needs.

You will be taught by highly experienced staff in our computing labs that are fully equipped with industry standard hardware and software. This course will provide you with software and web development skills and techniques that are used in the real world. The units covered will include application design, product development, web design, software engineering, mobile technology, global information, social media & digital marketing and big data analytics. You will undertake a project based on IOT and mobile development concepts. You will also have an opportunity to sit Microsoft Technology Associate qualifications and other industrial qualifications. Additionally, you will gain skills in Java, Python and C#, Tableau and SQL Server.

Following the completion of the Extended Diploma you may progress to a Degree / HND / Foundation Degree in Computing / Software Engineering / IT. Alternatively the course may lead to employment within the computing / IT sector.
