The Management Skills Spotlight Series is a great opportunity to gain bite-sized learning directly relevant to your industry, your role, and in the work you undertake every day that impacts you as a manager. This series will enable you to build skills, gain knowledge and share experiences with other managers in the Hospitality and Tourism sector. Drawing on the skills and expertise of our guest speakers, industry representatives, as well as college lecturing staff, we will spotlight four key areas:

Service Needs

Marianne Hood, Marianne Hood Hospitality Solutions, explores the impact of the pandemic on the customer, how customer service needs have permanently changed and how you as a manager can identify, respond and successfully meet these needs.
Leadership and Management Qualification
Are you interested in developing leadership and management skills, whilst gaining an accredited level 3 qualification? The 6 NI FE Colleges are providing 100 fully funded* places that will support managers to gain skills in leadership, motivation, team dynamics, communication and emotional intelligence, all aligned to the Hospitality and Tourism sector.
Is it right for me?
This course is unique in that it has been developed specifically for managers in the Hospitality and Tourism industry. The level 3 qualification is suitable for individuals who have management responsibilities, but no formal training, and are serious about developing their abilities. This qualification particularly supports practicing team leaders and managers who need to lead people through organisational change.
Is my business eligible for funding?
*The course is fully-funded through the Skills Focus programme. To qualify for this programme your business must be based in Northern Ireland and have fewer than 250 employees. Since the EU Exit, service sector businesses are now subject to a subsidy declaration. Community Groups and Charities are not eligible for this programme.
Technical Skills Series
Throughout May and June, NI FE colleges will be offering a range of online skills-based learning sessions to support managers and/or their staff in specialist, bespoke skill areas.
