T E S Award Main

Belfast Met have received a prestigious 2015 TES Further Education Award for Employer Engagement as a result of the College’s successful partnership with the Deloitte Data Analytics Training Academy ‘DATA’. The partnership was described by the judging panel as “innovative” and a “genuine two-way street” bringing significant benefits to all parties and in turn they felt the college had pioneered a “very different kind of employer engagement”.

The accolade is a renowned accomplishment for Belfast Met as the National TES FE Awards acknowledge the achievements of the wide range of providers working in learning and skills across all of the UK.

Jonathan Heggarty Head of the School of Electronic & Computing Technologies stated -

“Winning this national award is a tremendous achievement for Belfast Met and our ongoing pursuit of ensuring that we lead the city to work. We are delighted that the College has now been recognised nationally for our achievements and we look forward with excitement and passion as we continue to deliver outstanding solutions for our students and stakeholders. “

DATA was designed by the Northern Ireland Department for Employment and Learning, Deloitte and Belfast Met under the Assured Skills initiative to offer participants relevant industry training and skills and a possible offer of employment with Deloitte. The courses have quickly delivered spectacular results.  Deloitte Senior Partner Jackie Henry said -

“Deloitte’s partnership with Belfast Met has been an incredibly positive journey for Deloitte. Belfast Met have worked with flexibility, agility and dedication to co-design an academy programme, which has positively affected how Deloitte recruit graduates into the business”.

Belfast Met is now in its second year of running DATA which has attracted more than 600 applications from a diverse range of graduates. Each of the 20 successful applicants are now employed by Deloitte or working elsewhere in the sector.
