Fully Funded Training to those impacted by Covid-19

Belfast Met is offering a range of online courses, fully funded by the Department for the Economy, to support those whose jobs have been impacted by Covid-19. Training will be delivered online between January and March 2021 and provides an opportunity for individuals to upskill, retrain and gain qualifications.

Fully funded online courses

Courses are delivered completely online with support from a lecturer who will support you through a series of tutorials. Tutorials are designed to be engaging and to encourage interaction and discussion.


Leadership & Management

ILM Level 3 Award in Leadership and Management

Ideal for new or aspiring team leaders to support the transition from working in a team to leading a team. Covers units in leadership and motivating to improve performance. This course is now fully subscribed and we are no longer accepting applications.


OCN Level 2 Award in Social Media

Improve skills in using a variety of social media sites to manage effective marketing campaigns and promoted products and services. This course is now fully subscribed and we are no longer accepting applications.

OCN Level 2 Award in Digital Marketing

Develop an understanding of internet and communications technology for marketing activities, including, search engine optimisation and the use of mobile technologies to maximise customer engagement. This course is now fully subscribed and we are no longer accepting applications.


OCN Level 3 Award in Business Development Skills/Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship is increasingly recognised as an important driver of economic growth, productivity, innovation and employment and, therefore, should be a viable career or change of career option for learners. The OCN NI Level 3 Award in Business Development Skills qualification has been designed to provide learners with the opportunity to prepare for enterprise by develop. Provides those working with children and/or young people with skills to understand the impact that ADHD has, modify the impact on learning and identify positive behaviour management. This course is now fully subscribed and we are no longer accepting applications.


OCN Level 2 Award in Managing Challenging Behaviour in Children and Young People

Offers individuals who wish to or are currently working with children and young people the opportunity to explore the causes and effects of challenging behaviour and how challenging behaviour may be managed. This course is now fully subscribed and we are no longer accepting applications.

OCN Level 2 Award in Mental Health Awareness

The Award aims to raise awareness of mental health issues and how to foster good mental health and wellbeing. The aim is to remove the stigma of mental health by providing an understanding of issues surrounding it.

Cisco Cyber Security Essentials

Microsoft Power BI – Analysing and Visualising Data

This course focuses on maximising value from data sets, creating scalable data models and enabling analytics of data to provide meaningful visualisations. It would be beneficial for the learner to have completed an Excel qualification or have been working in a role that required use of data sets prior to completing this course. MTA Introduction to Programming using Python

The MTA Introduction to Programming using Python provides learners with the knowledge to recognise and write syntactically correct Python code, recognise data types supported by Python and be able to recognise and write Python code that will logically solve a given problem. MTA HTML 5 and CSS Development Fundamentals

The MTA HTML5 Application Development Fundamentals provides learners with core HTML5 client application development skills that will run on today's touch-enabled devices (PCs, tablets, and phones). Although HTML is often thought of as a web technology that is rendered in a browser to produce a UI, this course and exam focuses on using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript to develop client applications. OCN Level 3 Award in Digital Construction with Building Information Modelling

Gain a fundamental understanding of digital collaboration within construction, including digital construction workflows, digital skills for construction and BIM principles. This course is now fully subscribed and we are no longer accepting applications for this course.


City and Guilds Level 2 Award in Welding Skills

Gain welding skills and knowledge to a level that will enable you to complete welded joints in a selection of complex positions. The delivery of this course combines theoretical lectures, practical demonstrations and plenty of hands-on welding.
