The College has a range of business support programmes and provide training, knowledge and support to develop innovative product ideas, improve competitiveness and help you grow your business.

We have extensive experience working with businesses of any size across multiple industries to review training need requirements and develop a delivery plan that is relevant, timely and cost effective.

Belfast Met has a dual mandate of economic development and social inclusion. Our goal is to assist learners develop the knowledge and skills needed for the workplace and/or further study and thereby support them progress through education and training in order to gain a job or get a better job.

Funded Training - Department for the Economy FREE short courses

The Department for the Economy recently announced a £1.7m investment in skills development for those impacted by Covid-19. Through this investment, Belfast Met is delivering fully funded qualifications in areas such as, Leadership & Management, Marketing, Children’s Care and Education, Cyber Security and Digital Construction.

A range of courses are now open for enrolment. Each course is delivered online through a virtual learning environment with a lecturer who will support learners through a series of tutorials. All courses are designed to be engaging, encourage interaction and fit within the needs of a busy lifestyle.

These short courses provide a valuable opportunity for individuals to upskill, retrain and achieve qualifications that will assist them in securing a new job or support their place of work when they return.

100% Funding Support Available for SMEs to Upskill Staff

Through Skills Focus, the Department for the Economy is now providing 100% funding towards qualifications at level 2 and above to NI businesses with less than 250 employees.

The Covid-19 pandemic has caused significant challenges to businesses across Northern Ireland, by removing the 25% employer contribution in Skills Focus, it is anticipated that businesses will be able to develop skills that could support them as they try to adapt to the new environment.
