International Students

Every year Belfast Metropolitan College welcomes thousands of students from around the world who study a huge range of courses.

The College offers many choices, high standards, great facilities and a lively learning environment, with campuses in the heart of Belfast, Northern Ireland’s largest city.

We are the largest government funded public college of further and higher education in Northern Ireland and one of the biggest colleges in the UK. So we have everything in place that international students need to succeed.

The College is accredited by the British Council for the teaching of English and has a UKVI Highly Trusted Sponsor licence.

Our friendly International Office can provide advice and support – everything you want to know while you study at Belfast Met!

Are you an international student?

You are considered an international student if you need to apply for a Tier 4 Student Visa, or a Student Visitor Visa to come and study as a full-time student in the UK. For details of our full-time courses, contact our International Office (details below).

Students who have a non-EU passport, or have lived outside the European Union for all or part of the last three years may be liable for International fees. You must have a fees assessment completed with our International Office. To arrange an assessment, telephone: 028 9026 5192.

Students who have been assessed and have International status must pay an international fee for any course they join at Belfast Met, including Essential Skills classes.
