We have been keeping you regularly informed of MetaCompliance, a new software system which is helping us improve our information assurance and policy compliance across Belfast Met.
In January you received the Equal Opportunities Policy. This month we will distribute our Health & Safety so please ensure that you read and acknowledge the communication.
MetaCompliance allows us to distribute our policies and gather evidence that staff have read and accepted them in an efficient and cost effective manner.
The software has already been deployed to individual desktops and tablets and in January you received your first policy communication. The next policy to be distributed is our Health and Safety Policy. Please look out for the MetaCompliance pop up message on your desktop and be sure to read and acknowledge the communication.
By way of a reminder here’s a quick run-through of how MetaCompliance works:
- Any policies or surveys that you receive from MetaCompliance will be displayed on your computer screen for a limited time only. You will have an option to snooze the document and you will be reminded at a later date to complete it.
- You will only be able to snooze the document up to a certain date at which point you will be left with an agree button only.
- Some of the policies may be followed by a short test to ensure that the contents of the policy have been understood.
- The system has the ability to provide the same information to staff who do not have access to a computer by manually producing hard copy documents and distributing them to staff via internal post or Postal Sort.
- The hard copy will need to be signed and returned so that we have accurate records of who has signed up to any of the new policies. Look out for our Health & Safety policy coming through via MetaCompliance soon.
