Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity
In recent years, the College has continued to provide an inclusive culture in which every individual is encouraged to participate fully and is treated with dignity on the basis of their ability. However the journey continues and much work still remains to be done.
To this end, the College has or is currently undertaking a series of initiatives:
Our Commitment College Equality and Diversity Statement: “Belfast Met is committed to providing a supportive working environment which demonstrates respect for and acceptance of difference, where every individual is encouraged to achieve their full potential in an environment free from harassment, victimisation and discrimination.
We are also committed to preparing students for work in a diverse community and therefore it is essential that our environment is one which promotes harmony, acceptance and understanding of different cultures and traditions.
Belfast Met recognises that this cannot be achieved without the full support and commitment of our stakeholders including staff, students, Trades Unions, Government, those with whom we do business and local citizens”.
Our Equality Forum
Membership of the Equality Forum is drawn from across the College and at all levels; Trades Unions and Students Union are also represented.
