25 May 19
This award winning 2 year part time Higher National Diploma in Sport is an exciting opportunity to gain an internationally recognised Higher Education qualification in this growing sector. This part-time course is currently delivered on a Tuesday and Thursday in year 1 and a Thursday and Friday in year 2. The course offers flexibility and is suited to those who are currently employed and seeking to enhance their qualifications, distance learners and those who have sporting commitments that would make the full-time equivalent unsuitable. The end qualification is the same as the equivalent full-time programme.
In year 1 you should expect to cover units such as Physical Activity, Lifestyle & Health, The Sport Landscape, Project Management and Technology in Sport.
In year 2 you should expect to cover units such as Research Project, Entrepreneurship in Sport, Performance Analysis, Advanced Coaching, Teaching Practice (PE) and Work Experience.
The course is ideally suited to those with an interest in developing a career in sports coaching, sports development, PE teaching, sports analysis or leisure management. A two-week work experience placement in a sport setting makes up part of the programme in year 2 of the course.
Those currently active sportsmen or women who would enjoy reading more about their sport and use their sporting experience to complete an academic course would thoroughly enjoy this Level 5 qualification.
