PEARSON BTEC Level 5 HND Diploma in Sport -Sports Academy

This award winning 2 year part time Higher National Diploma in Sport is an exciting opportunity to gain an internationally recognised Higher Education qualification in this growing sector. This part-time course is linked to a variety of our Sports Academies and would suit those with a Boxing, Rugby, Football or Hockey background, although having played these sports is not an essential entry criteria. Our students will be actively engaged within Strength & Conditioning and Technical sessions in the Academies. These take place on a Monday and Wednesday alongside their academic programme on a Tuesday & Thursday in either a playing or backroom sport science support role.
In year 1 you should expect to cover units such as Physical Activity, Lifestyle & Health, The Sport Landscape, Project Management and Technology in Sport.
In year 2 you should expect to cover units such as Research Project, Entrepreneurship in Sport, Performance Analysis, Advanced Coaching, Teaching Practice (PE) and Work Experience.
Those currently active sportsmen or women who would enjoy reading more about their sport and use their sporting experience to complete an academic course would thoroughly enjoy this Level 5 qualification.
For those Male or Female students entering the Sports Academy programme as part of the course fee comes a full set of leisurewear for each student, access to Strength and Conditioning sessions, Physiotherapy and technical skills training from highly qualified sport coach
Opportunities and Progression
Opportunities exist for employment in management positions in the sport, health, leisure and fitness industries. Alternatively you may progress to accelerated degree programmes in sport, exercise, health, leisure management and physical education.
