The three year part time course is ideal for those who already work in the beauty or related industries. It will help equip individuals who wish to either own or manage their own business or progress within their existing careers. The course can be offered for both hair and beauty or clinical routes. The course offers a range of core and specialist units including theoretical based management and science. Our excellent College facilities have enabled the units of laser and light rejuvenation, anatomy and physiology, aromatherapy and also reflexology to be included in the qualification. Assessment is by a variety of means including group work, team activities, individual practical work, presentations and written assessments. You will gain valuable practical experience working within our clinical commercial and work experience opportunities.

Career Opportunities / Progression
Upon successful completion, you will have the ability, after an initial period of work experience, to set-up your own business. The course also opens up exciting career prospects in day spas, salons, health farms, cruise ships and brand management. You may also progress to degree level programmes in business, health, beauty, or science-related areas. A high portion of past students have been successful in gaining full or part-time employment as lecturers in further education colleges or other training providers.
Requirements are pre-defined by the College’s admission criteria. Applicants should possess a Level 3 qualification in beauty, holistic or hairdressing/barbering (for part-time route). Industrial experience is required or a College reference as to your suitability for this Level 5 course. Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English are essential. A minimum standard of Level 2 ICT is desirable.
You will be required to buy a Belfast Met uniform and kit - specific details will be given at Pre-entry Advice and Guidance sessions
All fees are set in accordance with DfE regulations.
This course is also available as part-time study. Course hours and hence fees may be adjusted to suit individual requirements.
