This course provides an intellectually demanding vocational learning experience that will develop a high level of technical competence in fast- changing areas of technology. The course can help to enhance your career prospects across the range of electrical and electronic engineering disciplines and offers opportunities for progression to higher level study. You may typically cover the following units in year one: Electrical and Electronic Principles; Microprocessor Systems, Networking Technologies, Applications of Power Electronics, Engineering Science, Analytical Methods for Engineers, PLCs and Personal and Professional Development. In year two, modules include: Business Management Techniques for Engineers, Project Design, Implementation and Evaluation, Engineering Design, Combinational and Sequential Logic, Electrical, Electronic and Digital Principles, Electronic Principles and Further Analytical Methods for Engineers. An additional module to enhance your employability may also be included as part of the programme.

Career Opportunities / Progression

Please refer to the College’s admissions criteria. Please note the minimum tariff accepted for this course in the previous academic year was 80 tariff points (200 tariff points using old UCAS tariff points system).
