CIPD Level 5 Intermediate Diploma in HRM

CIPD Intermediate qualification offers the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required by human resource professionals.  The programme provides learners with the necessary understanding of human resource management within the broader business environment to further develop their HR career.

The Level 5 Diploma is suitable for those who have progressed from a Level 3 in Human Resource Practice and/or candidates that have suitable/relevant experience within human resources.

To complete the Intermediate Diploma in Human Resource Management you must complete the following 8 units:


o Developing Professional Practice
o Business Issues and the Contexts of Human Resources
o Using information in Human Resources
o Managing and Coordinating the Human Resources Function
o Resourcing and Talent Planning
o Reward Management
o Improving Organisational Performance
o Employment Law

Assessment Method:
A range of assessment methods drawn from the CIPD National Assessment Bank will be utilised.  Assessments required for each unit which will be organisational and HR related.

The Intermediate Diploma in Human Resource Management provides an opportunity to gain a professional level of CIPD membership through becoming an Associate member on successful completion of the programme.  Learners may progress to other CIPD qualifications at Level 7.

Entry Requirements

Intermediate qualifications are suitable for those who seek to develop a career in HR/L&D management and development; are working in the field of HR/L&D management and development and need to extend their knowledge and skills; have responsibility forimplementing HR/L&D policies and strategies; need to understand the role of HR/L&D in the wider organisational and environmental context. It is recommended that students hold the Level 3 CIPD Certificate in Training or Personnel Practice.
