This course is designed to give you the skills to gain employment and then progress to the Level 3 Apprenticeship course. 

The course consists of theory and practical lessons. Once you have completed the practical training you will undertake a range of 60 practical assessments and 13 online examinations. The theory lessons cover a range on knowledge units.

Learners will undertake a qualification which includes hot and cold water systems, cooper pipe work, central heating installation, practical plumbing and installing/decommissioning/maintenance of plumbing systems. A series of written, online and practical test will be taken by the participants.

On successful completion of this course, you may progress to the Level 3 Diploma in Plumbing & Heating

Entry Requirements

ApprenticeshipsNI (AppsNI) students or Training for Success:

Applicants should be at least 16 years of age. You must have achieved a minimum of 5 GCSEs including a Grade D in English and Maths (or equivalent qualification).

Further Education:

To pursue the further education route you must have achieved the following:
5 GCSEs at Grade D or above, including Science, Maths and English (subject to change); or equivalent qualifications or relevant experience.

Other Information

Successful completion of this Traineeship will enable employed students to progress to the Level 3 Apprenticeship programme.
