Policy Compliance Project Kick Off Announcement

As part of our ongoing programme to share knowledge and to improve information assurance and policy compliance across Belfast Met, a new software system called MetaCompliance has been procured.

A steering group is being established to project manage the implementation of the software, to agree the standards for its use and to agree a schedule of policies, surveys and questionnaires to be disseminated by the system. The steering group will be made up of representatives from across the College.

The system will allow Belfast Met to display new policies on your computer as you log on. It will test your understanding of the policy and will track and record when you have read the policy for audit purposes. Over the next few months you will see surveys and policies being distributed to you by the new system.

Any policies or surveys that you receive from MetaCompliance will be displayed on your computer screen for a limited time only. You will have an option to snooze the document and you will be reminded at a later date to complete it. When you choose to review the policy, you will be required to read through it or complete the survey. At the end of the document you will be asked to click a button which will signify that you agree to comply with the policy and abide by it.

You will only be able to snooze the document up to a certain date at which point you will be left with an agree button only.

Some of the policies may be followed by a short test to ensure that the contents of the policy have been understood and in some cases you will have the opportunity to be linked to an on-line learning resource.

The system has the ability to provide the same information to staff who do not have access to a computer by manually producing hard copy documents and distributing them to staff via internal post or Postal Sort. Any hard copy documents will need to be signed and returned so that we have accurate records of who has signed up to any of the new policies.
