BMC Student Campaigns For The USA

HND Marketing student Sheryl McBride is studying for one year at
St Andrew’s Presbyterian College, North Carolina, USA, through the Business Education Initiative (BEI) programme.  (The BEI programme is funded by DEL and delivered by British Council.)

Through her programme, Sheryl has obtained an internship with Laurinburg Chamber of Commerce and has made such a significant contribution to the Chamber’s work that she has been featured in the local newspaper.

Her manager says “Sheryl is learning how to effectively develop, design, co-ordinate and produce a marketing campaign for the US Business environment.  She will develop an understanding of the key differences between public relations in the US and NI.”

Not only is Sheryl an excellent ambassador for Northern Ireland and for BMC in the US business sector, but she has also thrown wholeheartedly herself into campus life.  She is participating in equestrian events for her college, making lots of friends and having a really enjoyable experience in what is a very different educational environment.

Cynthia Fulton says: “Like all out going BEI students, Sheryl experienced a mixture of excitement and apprehension before setting off last summer.  But she is clearly getting 100% out of this opportunity by making sure that her experience on BEI will enhance her employability skills.”
